Open to all (no ballet pre-requisite)

Class Description
We will use theatre games, improv exercises, and scripted material to help your child develop self-confidence, explore their imagination and learn to express themselves creatively! Each exercise is designed to focus on a specific acting skill, such as trusting creative instincts, or using voice and physicality as a means of expression. Students will work collaboratively and each have their own moment in the spotlight as well! Through the use of scenes and monologues, students will work on character development, script interpretation and performance skills. Class culminates in a presentation for parents.
Instructed by Lisa Rudin
Lisa is the Founder and Artistic Director of Theatre Playground. Lisa is a NY native and graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Acting. She has performed regionally and nationally as a singer, actor, and dancer before moving to Los Angeles. There, she expanded into casting for film as well as teaching theater at both professional studios and after school programs. Lisa also has a background in arts education administration and development for some of the leading arts institutions in Los Angeles. She's very happy to be home in NY where her daughters can see their cousins often, and she's very excited to bring her passion for the arts to your children!
