'for All Seasons' Recital
Ballet for Youngsters Age 1-5![]() Our early childhood classes are designed to create an appreciation for dance, classical music, movement, rhythm and structure. Through music, video, costume and props, children learn the foundation of ballet movements, placement & terminology and learn about all of the well-known classical ballet stories.
Parents are able to view classes throughout the school year and summer program. Check out our current schedule for class days and times including weekday, weeknight and weekend classes. 1 Weekly Class recommended Ages 18 mos - 2 years (mommy-n-me), Ages 2 & 3 (tots) and 4 & 5 (pre-ballet) Requirements: Leotard and Tights, Any Color, Skirts and Tutus allowed, Pink Ballet Slippers •Dance Class Focused on Creative Movement and Structured Play •Student Learns and Adheres to the Basic Structure of a Ballet Class •Student Learns Characters, Stories and Music of Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Corsaire, Petroushka, Coppelia, The Nutcracker & More •Student Achieves Basic Understanding of Rhythm and Musicality •Student Achieves Fundamental Posture and Understanding of Turn Out in first, second and third position •Basic Stretching •Achieving Foundation for Basic Terminology: 5 ballet positions, port de bras, plie, tendu, passe, coupe, bourre, chasse, saute, jete •1 Performance included in the End of Year Recital Early childhood syllabus created by Erin Drennan and Lauren Loschiavo. Both teachers are qualified early childhood specialists. Erin completed early childhood education graduate courses at St. John's University and Lauren obtained her early childhood education certification at Dowling University. |
