Specials in solo, duos and trios categories should represent the top achieving dancers in any given program. Dancers who wish to compete in a solo, duo or trio must be meeting most of the standards outlined below for ballet, tap or jazz/lyrical/contemporary. Dancers who are not meeting these standards are encouraged to participate in a performance solo at our June recital if they wish, but will not be able to compete. These standards must be achieved at 80% prior to the start of the season.
Non-competitive performance solos (with the exception of the ballet variations rehearsed in the spring according to our usual schedule) can follow the same procedure as competing rehearsals to register but will not incur competition entry fees.
If you wish to compete a ballet variation, you will need to follow the registration procedure as you would for any other concentration.
