    Company Dancer Guidelines & Policies
    These are the guidelines and expectations that we have of our company dancers.  If you have a special circumstance that inhibits you from adhering to a company rule or policy but still wish to participate in some capacity, please inquire with the front desk to see if an exception is possible. Exceptions are the norm, however, these guidelines are the standard expectation of company participation. Excessive exceptions degrade the quality of our program.

    1. Except for Umbrella dancers and Angel/Cookie roles, only company dancers will be permitted to audition for our Merry Mini Nutcracker, competition teams, spring concert and/or variations performances. Visiting and recreational dancers are qualified to participate in the June recital.

    2. Company dancers are required to participate in both Nutcracker and Spring Concert and are encouraged to participate in elective competitions, variations adjudication (as seniors), lecture/demos, partnership performance opportunities and repertoire pieces as much as possible. Company dancers are also encouraged to participate in a Summer Concert in August. All productions maintain a rehearsal fee and spring and summer concert will include a reservation guarantee of 6-10 tickets per dancer. The rehearsal fee and reservation guarantee will be outlined at the September orientation meeting.

    3. For encouraged (but not required) company events, company dancers must RSVP regarding their participation according to the registration timelines for any given event so that we can appropriately plan. We operate under the assumption that all company dancers will be participating in all company events.

    4. Company dancers are required to enroll for a 12-month term, September through August. Tuition for company dancers includes the discounted academic term and discounted summer term, and excludes intensives, workshops, master classes, privates, production fees, rehearsal fees and performance tickets. Absences and vacations have already been considered in tuition pricing and tuition cannot be pro-rated. Although we encourage dancers to participate in classes all year, absences for summer camp and vacation have been considered in our tuition pricing.

    5. Company dancers are expected to participate in the recreational recital in June, either through a variation performance or in an elective concentration such as tap, jazz, contemporary or acro, or a company concert excerpt. If company dancers have no scheduled piece to perform, they are required to attend the June recital.

    6. Senior company dancers are required to volunteer backstage at recital and/or as a pointe shoe big for younger dancers once per year. Company parents are required to volunteer in some capacity throughout the year, whether for one of our productions or fundraising events.

    7. Company dancers are required to maintain ballet class minimums according to their level, as well as class minimums in any elective concentration in which they hope to perform or study. Level 1/2, one to two ballet classes per week, Level 2/3, two to three ballet classes per week, Level 4/5, three to five technical classes per week plus pointe, conditioning and elective supplements.

    8. Company dancers under the diamond belt level are not permitted to study or perform in other private ballet or dance performances without an explicit invitation from Integral staff and are not permitted to attend summer dance programs that are unrelated to Integral or required for school (ie clinics etc). Dancers must be achieving all standards as outlined in our curriculum before representing our school in that manner, and before a summer program will be of vital benefit to them.

    9. Integral ballet staff cannot serve students in an agent capacity and cannot assist with coordinating, scheduling or preparing for outside auditions.

    10. Visiting dancers (advanced dancers who are not able to commit to company participation) are welcome to enroll in our program in any level-appropriate class, but are not entitled to multiple class discounts offered to our company dancers.

    11. Pre-Company dancers (age 4-7) are expected to adhere to company policies as much as is appropriate for their age as preparation for entering Junior company. Pre-Company dancers who are competing or otherwise outwardly representing our school are required to adhere to these policies in the same manner as Junior (age 8-12) and Senior company (age 13-18) members with the exception of required Nutcracker/spring concert participation.

    12. Standard registration & tuition policies pre your registration form apply to all visiting, recreational and company dancers.

    13. Company students can miss no more than 2 rehearsals for any performance material INCLUDING competition choreography classes without permission from their teacher/choreographer/rehearsal coach. If you need to miss choreography classes or rehearsals in order to participate in another extracurricular, you need to obtain an alternative learning plan from staff first to ensure you’ll be able to maintain your commitment to the company. Dancers with excessive absences from choreography may be removed from a piece at the discretion of their rehearsal coach with no refunds on tuitions paid.

    14. All female cast members are required to have a form fitted, nude colored camisole leotard designated for performances only; pink mesh, seamed Capezio or Danskin-brand tights in theatrical/European pink, clean, pink ballet slippers (and pointe shoes if appropriate); hair pins, hair nets and hair ties at all times; stage make up as discussed in rehearsal. Male cast members need black ballet slippers, black dance pants and a neat white performance tee. All company dancers are required to have an Integral jacket to wear to competitions, workshops, lecture/demos and performances. Corps dancers may need their own white, professional platter tutus which must be ordered when the dancers begins pointe. Other costume materials for Integral Ballet company performances will be provided. Costumes are often borrowed and must be returned in pristine condition. Costumes for competition, private solos and recital will be purchased by the dancer.

    15. Company rehearsal schedules are intended as a general guideline. We expect all cast members to be flexible, committed, and available for planned and unplanned rehearsals as it benefits the production, not the necessarily the child. We will do our best to avoid unplanned rehearsals or disruptions.
     
    16. Company parents are not entitled to one-on-one meetings with any staff member or member of our directing team. One on one meetings require an appointment and should be scheduled with 2 weeks’ notice as well as booked and paid for as a private lesson.

    17. Company dancers who are insubordinate and have been disciplined according to our posted disciplinary policy (2 warnings, call parents, dismissal from class, expulsion) are not entitled to any refunds on tuitions paid or due.
     
    18. Dancers who wish not to continue in either a company or visiting student capacity for an upcoming term are expected to give our staff the courtesy of advance notice.
     
    19. Company dancers are expected to represent our school positively and conduct themselves in a courteous and graceful manner at all times, both within and outside the studio. Company dancers are expected to act and speak respectfully towards staff and one another and be positive role models in the community.
