RECITAL 2020: IN SUMMER
The Bellmore-Merrick CHSD have cancelled all June events. Our 'In Summer' 2020 recital will be postponed until October 2020. In the meantime, please consider joining us for a Pop Up recital with your child's class at the end of the month!
We want to give our recreational dance youngsters an unforgettable recital experience to culminate the season. As of now, we do plan to reschedule the recital for late summer or even fall if it is safe and permissible.
In the meantime, we will also be holding:
“In Summer” as a
Social DisDancing Pop-Up Recital
Outdoors for June 29th-July 3rd
Attached is our anticipated plan of dates/times and locations that will minimize the number of cars present and maximize siblings having their pop-up outdoor recital at the same time. I’ve also enclosed our class list with their normal class time if you are unsure of your child’s piece.
We’ll pop up around town with their music and ply wood floors out of Mr. Freddie's truck. We'll compile a DVD of the least-forgettable recital ever and distribute to all participants. Parents will be welcome to stream their child’s performance to family members through private channels such as zoom.
We anticipate that small groups of less than 10 will be permitted to gather by late June, but we will also be able to maintain a 6 foot distance between dancers if we are outdoors and families can drive-in to watch. This is not a public gathering so only one car per dancer should park at our planned location.
We will provide more specific guidelines the week prior.
If anyone has access or ideas for better locations, they are up for change and a final plan will be distributed the week prior. (For example, if you live on an accessible courtyard and your neighbors wouldn’t mind a free performance and bit of traffic 😊 for an hour or so.)
We realize that this has been a really challenging time for many. We hope this event can be a casual and fun experience for the kids to get out, wear their costumes, see some friends and show off their routine. Given the circumstances, we do not expect 100% attendance but hope we’ll be able to safely enjoy some sunshine and dancing together.
In the meantime, I will continue to notify 2019-2020 enrollees of our ‘In Summer’ recital plan regardless of their enrollment status for the next academic term.
