For Immediate Release
FAITH Dance Project Raises Thousands of Dollars for the American Lung Association, Long Island Asthma Coalition through Their Performance of Stormy Weather
The FAITH Dance Project, a contemporary ballet company, set a series of ballet performances endeavoring to raise money for the American Lung Association. The company successfully completed their first season of classes and performances, raising thousands of dollars for the Long Island Asthma Coalition of the ALA. The project is an entirely volunteer effort, hosting classes and performances to heighten awareness of asthma on Long Island and raise funds for research.
The FAITH Dance Project recently welcomed donations through a benefit performance in New York City. On July 1st and 2nd, dancers performed the well-received Stormy Weather, an eclectic mix of modern, contemporary ballet and jazz dance to America’s early jazz music.
The project is committed to developing awareness and money to support the fight against asthma in memory of Faith Floridia, a native Long Islander, whose dance career and life ended abruptly due to asthmatic complications.
The FAITH Dance Project has performed Stormy Weather at several senior citizens’ homes on Long Island and will continue to give free performances throughout the upcoming season. For information on classes, auditions, upcoming performances or to book the FAITH Dance Project, contact Erin Drennan at [email protected].
