This is what all the year-long work was for, dancers and danseurs. The great (and terrible) thing about ballet is that well-trained dancers can not perform poorly, and poorly trained dancers cannot perform well. There is nothing you can do between now and the show, for better or for worse, to really improve what the audience will experience in watching you. Your work (or lack of) will shine through. Your dedication (or lack of) will show. Your confidence (or terror) will reign. It's all about preparation, and your efforts to improve the audience's experience by way of being a better dancer... well, that will start up again on December 1st, after the show is said and done.
Everyone got their harsh corrections from Ms Lauren, Ms Falyn and me this weekend. Our shortcomings have been dissected and corrected and now that those fixes have been fixed... (and I'm assuming they've been fixed)...
it's all merry magic and goosebumps from here on out.
...Except for the Flowers waltz, which really does need quite a bit of work :/ We are looking forward to our extra rehearsal on Wednesday for one more round of harsh corrections, dissections and fixings.
And then...
it will be all merry magic and goosebumps from then on out.
(But point those feet while you're at it, or I'm gonna come after you will my stage hook and pull you off!)
